Forgiveness, Surrender, Peace

Hi, I’m Buzz and I work with Miriam and our friends on this site.

When I was eighteen I found out that my Mother had tried to abort me but I survived. I was then rescued by some courageous nuns and brought me to a loving family that raised me.

As you can see in the diaper change posts, this revelation was traumatizing. It also triggered a lot of rage and my therapist coached me to dump that trauma and rage into the memes that are known here on this site as Vulgar Buzz Originals (VBOs).

My therapist did not want to leave me in that dark place but saw it as a necessary step toward healing. To that end, she had me read a book about dealing with the world’s atrocities more like Jesus did. That book was written by Brant Hansen and is titled “Unoffendable”.

Growing up in a Catholic home I was quite familiar with the way Jesus forgave even those who crucified him: “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”

This book combines that countercultural message with all the other Biblical teaching about anger, resentment, forgiveness and the resulting peace that comes from letting go of unrealistic expectations.

With the humor and linguistic expertise of an accomplished radio host, author Brent reads the audible version himself and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Working through the concepts of this book with my counselor and making it a way of life over the last few years have had a profound impact on the way I approach everything.

Now that Miriam has read the book as well, we’ve decided to have a go at explaining why two women that are forgiving those that have perpetrated evil on them can still keep such a website as this online.

First of all, we’ve come to firmer grips with the just how completely broken we all are… every last one of us in fact.

This has helped us shed our unrealistic expectations.

And yet…

We have not removed the diaper change sections from our site. We still promote the distribution of WWFFS meme cards. We still have links to my unedited, trauma-induced ‘Vulgar Buzz Original’ images which inspired the WWFFS images.

Why?

Should trauma induced rage ever be put on display?

Well, we aren't 100% sure, but here is why we think it should.

Miriam and I still hope that perhaps one of the images, salty or unsalted, might help some poor lost soul make a better choice for the tiny human growing inside them.

We also hope that clear thinking presented in a satirical way might sow seeds of truth that grow and break through some of the sophistry that covers this issue.

We also hope that sorting through our trauma in the tender way we have done publicly through our chats in the ‘Survivors Unite!’ section might help people begin to sort through their own trauma.

We also hope that seeing someone like me who was aborted by my mother (a victim of incestual rape) become close friends with someone who aborted her own child in similar circumstances, might communicate the forgiveness, tenderness, kindness and love that is there for anyone who has gone through with an abortion.

We have many other hopes as well. Suffice it to say, we will leave the site up as it is with all those hopes and prayers intact...

Because...

We want everyone to know about our experience of forgiveness.

We want everyone to know about our experience of joy in surrendering our right to harbor anger and resentment toward anyone or anything.

We want everyone to know about our experience of peace in resting in the love of God which flows out to everyone, including those who consider him an enemy.
